More than 200 Murray seniors celebrated Seniors Week at the Vintage Vibes Dinner and Dance event last week.
Shire of Murray President, David Bolt said the seniors in the community help ensure Murray is an outstanding place to live and work.
“This event is highly anticipated every year, this year we added an extra night and both sold out.”
“There were people in the room without whom Murray would not be what it is, and we were grateful to spend the evening celebrating their contributions”, added Mr Bolt.
The evening was celebrated with a two-course meal provided by the Cert IV Hospitality students from The Village at Fairbridge who always do a fantastic job under Head Chef Glenn Foy and staff, live music from local band Kokomo and dance demonstrations from the talented Swing ‘n Sway Senior Rita’s, a local over 55’s dance group.
On top of this fantastic event, the Murray Library and MALC Pinjarra also offer many programs and classes for seniors throughout the year including: Knit ‘n’ Yarn, Adult Colouring-In sessions, Book and Movie Review Groups, Strength for Life, Aqua Fit, Hot Water Yoga and more.
This event was sponsored by the Shire of Murray and COTA WA with support from Department of Communities and Lotterywest.
