Victorian police have arrested a 62-year-old man following two alleged spitting incidents at Melbourne shopping centres this year.
It is alleged the man spat on a woman at a Malvern East shopping centre on 20 March before spitting on another woman at a Doncaster shopping centre on 22 July.
Police executed a search warrant at a Kensington address on Tuesday, 1 September and arrested the man, 62.
The man was interviewed and charged with two counts of common law assault, unlawful assault and offensive behaviour in a public place.
He was bailed to appear before Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 17 December.
