Remains confirmed as Allecha Boyd

Forensic examinations have confirmed human remains located near Wagga Wagga earlier this month belong to missing local woman, Allecha Boyd.

The remains were located during a coordinated search by detectives from Riverina Police District in the Lester State Forest, about 20km south west of the township of Coolamon on December 8.

“Subsequent forensic examinations have confirmed the remains belong to 27-year-old Allecha Boyd, who was last seen in the township of Coolamon on the afternoon of Thursday 10 August 2017,” NSW Police said in a statement today.

Two men – aged 19 and 37 – and a 35-year-old woman have since been convicted over her murder.

Riverina Police District Commander, Superintendent Bob Noble, said detectives made a commitment to finding Allecha and providing answers to her loved ones.

“The Strike Force Amias team left no stone unturned in their investigation and were determined to give Allecha’s family the opportunity properly – and respectfully – lay her to rest,” Supt Bob Noble said.
