Pup rescued from sweltering car

Tasmania Police are reminding the public not to leave children or pets unattended in cars after officers rescued a small dog from a hot car yesterday.

“People are reminded not to leave their children or pets unattended in vehicles, particularly in warmer weather,” Tasmania Police said in a statement.

Tasmania Police said Senior Constable Caswell and First Class Constable Kruse (pictured) were called to an incident near Huonville on Sunday to help rescue a dog from a hot vehicle.

In a photo posted on social media by Tasmania Police, the pup looked to have recovered from his ordeal and be enjoying the rest of his afternoon with his rescuers.

“Remember if you’re concerned for a child or animal’s welfare, please contact Police on 131444 or Triple Zero in an emergency,” police said.
