Police search for missing siblings

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a teenage brother and sister missing from Sydney’s west.

Mateisha Chandra, aged 16, and her brother, 15-year-old Keirat Chandra, were last seen at a home on Amos Street, Westmead about 6pm on Friday.

“Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were alerted after they failed to return home later that evening and an investigation into their whereabouts has commenced,” NSW Police said in a statement today.

“Police and family hold concerns for both children’s welfare due to their disappearance being out of character, as well as their age.”

Both are described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance. Mateisha is about 157cm tall and of a thin build, has black hair, and was last seen wearing a blue coloured track suit jacket and dark blue pants.

Keirat is about 183cm tall and of a medium build, has black hair, and was last seen wearing a black puma jacket a shorts.

Police urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of either child to contact Burwood Police Station on (02) 9745 8499 or Crime Stoppers.
