Police search for missing autistic teen

Police are appealing for public assistance to find a 13-year-old autistic boy reported missing from Brisbane Water area.

Leif Courtney (pictured) was last seen at his home on The Pacific Highway Mooney Mooney about 7.30pm yesterday.

“Officers from Brisbane Water Police District hold concerns for his welfare due to his young age and him suffering autism,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“A search of the area has been conducted involving officers from Brisbane Water Police District, Marine Area Command and members from the local community.

“The search was suspended last night and will resume this morning.”

Leif is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160cm (5ft2) tall with a slim build. He has shaggy blond hair, and a fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a grey singlet and short, and sneakers with fluorescent green laces.
