Police search for driver after 73-year-old struck by Jeep

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the driver of a car that struck a 73-year-old pedestrian at Auburn on the weekend.

Police say that at around 6pm on Saturday, a vehicle travelling west on Mary Street allegedly hit a pedestrian while turning into Dudley Street.

“The driver stopped and rendered assistance to the injured 73-year-old man, however failed to exchange particulars,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“The injured man was taken to Westmead Hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.”

Police are seeking assistance to locate the driver of a black Jeep Cherokee. He is described as being of African appearance, between 30 to 40 old, about 180cm tall with black hair and a beard.
