Police release image of man wanted over 2018 home invasion

Police have released a COMFIT image of a man who may be able to assist with an investigation into a 2018 aggravated break and enter in Sydney’s west.

Police say that at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, 28 February in 2018, two men forced their way into a home on Rossvale Street in Toongabbie and threatened the three occupants at gunpoint – two men aged 61 and 57, and a 38-year-old woman.

“The men, armed with a shortened shotgun and baseball bat, assaulted one of the male occupants demanding cash,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“An occupant in the house struck the armed man with a piece of furniture before fleeing into the street and alerting neighbours.”

They say the two armed men fled with mobile phones and were last seen running through a nearby park.

“The older man suffered minor injuries while the other occupants were not injured,” NSW Police said.

Detectives attached to Blacktown Police Area Command established Strike Force Tasha to investigate the matter.

As inquires continue, Detectives have now released a COMFIT image of one of the men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his early 20’s, about 180cm tall, of medium build and with brown eyes. The second man is only described as being Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance.

Police are also appealing for anyone with information to contact Blacktown Police Station or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
