Police hunt for missing man and child

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man and child missing from Sydney’s south west.

James Borg, aged 22, and his one-year-old daughter Amira-Mae Borg (both pictured), were last seen leaving a home on Elsham Street, Auburn, about 3.30pm yesterday.

“When they did not return home, they were reported missing to officers from Auburn Police Area Command, who have commenced an investigation,” NSW Police said in a statement.

James is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 180cm-185cm tall, of solid build with dark hair that is worn in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, white jumper, black tracksuit pants and carrying a red backpack.

Amira-Mae is described as being of Caucasian appearance with short red hair and was being pushed in a pram.

It is believed they may be in the Blacktown and Quakers Hill areas, utilising the public transport network.

Police and family hold concern for their welfare, and anyone who may have information or has seen James and Amira-Mae are urged to contact Triple Zero (000) or Auburn Police Station on (02) 9646 8699.
