Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in Bribie Island as officers hunt an armed man after a shooting at Rothwell this morning.
Officers were called to a residence in Kelliher Street, Rothwell around 8am today following reports of a serious assault.
Officers tracked a vehicle of interest to Bribie Island where the PSPA was declared at 10.45am.
The PSPA encompasses Bibimulya St, Sylvan Beach Esplanade, Elkhorn Avenue and Eucalyptus St.
Specialist police are on scene and members of the community are asked to avoid the area as they respond.
