Police hunt for Melbourne sex offender

Victoria Police is seeking urgent assistance from the public to locate a registered sex offender.

An arrest warrant for Marcel Solomons was issued after the 45-year-old failed to comply with his mandatory reporting obligations.

“Solomons failed to make initial contact with police following his release from custody on 29 April 2021,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“Investigators believe Solomons lives in the Carlton area, and frequents the Melbourne CBD, Collingwood and Fitzroy areas.

“An image of Solomons has been released in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his whereabouts.”

Solomons is described as about 185cm tall, with a thin build, he has long black dreadlock hair, brown eyes, an olive complexion and is usually unshaven.

Anyone who sees Solomons is urged to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts it urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
