Police appeal for woman who may hold key in case of missing 78-year-old

Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a woman who may be able to help their investigation into a 78-year-old man missing from Sydney’s east.

Robert Duncan was last seen at a home on Alison Road, Randwick, on Wednesday, April 14.

“Despite extensive inquiries, police have not been able to locate him and still hold serious concerns for his welfare as he is unable to be contacted and has not accessed his bank accounts,” NSW Police said in a statement today.

As they continue to investigate, they have released an image of a woman who they say may be able to help locate Robert.

The woman is believed to have boarded the same 377 bus as Robert outside Arq Nightclub, on the corner of Flinders Street and Taylor Street, Surry Hills, at 9.40pm on Monday, April 12. In the photo she is seen on the right, sitting on a bench waiting for the bus that the pair later boarded.

“Police believe the woman may be able to help identify where Robert exited the bus that evening.”

Robert is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 165cm tall, with a slim build and white hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured coat.

Anyone who knows the woman or has seen Robert, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
