Detectives from the Echo Taskforce have released dashcam and CCTV footage as part of their ongoing investigation into a drive-by shooting in Dallas last year.
Police say three men were outside an address on Washington Street when a stolen black Mitsubishi ASX approached the group about 7pm on October 27.
An unknown male passenger in the Mitsubishi discharged a firearm at the group before the vehicle fled at a fast rate of speed,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
“No one was injured as a result of the shooting.”
Police located the Mitsubishi after it was set alight in Thomastown East Reserve later that evening.
Investigators have released dashcam footage of the incident in the hope that any witnesses who were in the area might come forward.
Investigators are keen to identify a female witness who can be seen walking along Doy Street as the incident unfolded.
Anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed or have dashcam footage of a black Mitsubishi ASX driving erratically is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
Detectives have also released CCTV of a vehicle of interest, believed to be a silver coloured Mazda 3, that was seen entering and leaving the Thomastown East Reserve shortly before and after the Mitsubishi was set on fire.
It is believed the Mazda may have sustained damage to its front and undercarriage when fleeing the scene.
Images of a similar Mazda have been released in the hope that someone may recognise the vehicle.
Anyone who witnessed the Mazda, may have dashcam footage or can identify the occupants are urged to come forward.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or log into www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
