Police appeal for return of brain-injured man’s wheelchair

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for the return of a brain-injured man’s wheelchair which was stolen from an apartment building in December.

“Investigators have been told unknown offender/s have entered the stairwell of a block of units on Nepean Highway sometime between 9am on 17 December and 10am on 18 December,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

The wheelchair, which is stored on the ground level which has a locked glass door, was stolen, Police said.

“It belongs to a 55-year-old man who suffered an acquired brain injury and a broken leg after being hit by a car in late 2020.”

The wheelchair is described as having a silver frame, black seat and no footrest.
