Photographer arrested over alleged sex assaults

A Sydney-based photographer has been arrested following an investigation into the historical sexual assault of two women in Inner Sydney.

In May this year, detectives attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command established Strike Force Nannawilli to investigate reports a woman was sexually assaulted by a man, known to her.

The then aged 35-year-old woman was working as a model when she was reportedly sexually assaulted at a Surry Hills warehouse in 2005.

Investigators have since received a report from a second woman about the same photographer. The then aged 33-year-old was reportedly sexually assaulted during a photo shoot at a Waterloo home in 2011.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators executed a warrant at a home in Waterloo this morning.

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the home. He has been taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he is expected to be charged.

As investigations continue, anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Nannawilli investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000
