Pedestrian, 79, killed in Clifton Springs crash

Victoria Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Clifton Springs this morning.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have been told the collision on Jetty Road, between a pedestrian and a car, occurred at about 7.30am.

“The pedestrian, a 79-year-old Clifton Springs man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died,” police said in a statement.

“The driver, a 37-year-old Curlewis man, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.”
