Paramedic on the pulse of Olympic dream

NSW Ambulance paramedic and Olympic Kayaker, Jo Brigden-Jones, has been farewelled by her colleagues as she takes a break from her day job to ramp up her training for Tokyo.

“The Olympics are less than 50 days away, so it’s starting to feel real and I’m getting exciting,” said Jo.

“Finishing up work means that I can really just focus on the end goal in seven weeks’ time and I can spend some extra time recovering.

“Next week I’m going to Rockhampton for a two week training camp with my crew. We are starting a race pace specific block, so training will be pretty intense and focused on fine tuning lots of little things for the race.

Jo does three gruelling training sessions a day.

“I would like that thank all my colleagues at NSW Ambulance for their support over the years,” she said.

“It’s been a huge effort to get here and it’s definitely been a team effort in achieving my goals.”

Good luck Jo!!#NSWAmbulance
