NSW residents have been advised to delay all non-essential travel to South Australia, following a growing COVID-19 cluster in the state.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian outlined the new border advice at a press conference this morning.
“If it’s not essential travel, really think about whether you need to go there in the next few days,” she said.
“But we are confident South Australia has it under control.”
She also revealed she had a COVID-19 test yesterday, while suffering a noticeably croaky throat at this morning’s briefing.
“I was negative,” the Premier confirmed.
NSW has recorded its 11 consecutive days of zero community transmission, but seven infections have diagnosed in hotel quarantine overnight.
Meanwhile the South Australian Premier has warned of a rise in the state’s case numbers today.
The Parafield Cluster currently has 20 confirmed cases, with another 14 people considered to be at high-risk of contracting the disease.
Premier Steven Marshall says an official update on case details will be provided this morning.
“I mean we just really need to see how this goes and you only get one chance to stop a second wave, and that chance is right now, to date we have been very much buoyed by the way that the people of South Australia have presented themselves for testing,” Mr Marshall said.
