New look Beaufort Nursing Home reopens

Victoria’s Beaufort Nursing Home has been officially reopened following a $975,000 refurbishment.

The state’s new Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers, Colin Brooks, this week toured the upgraded facility at the Beaufort and Skipton Health Service.

The nursing home now consists of 12 resident rooms, catering for 15 residents. The refurbishment has tripled the number of single resident rooms with private ensuite bathrooms from three to nine.

The upgrade also saw the refurbishment of the facility’s common areas, kitchen and activity spaces where residents participate in an active lifestyle program and socialise with their friends, family and the local community.

“We are delivering much needed high-quality residential aged care services that will benefit communities right across western Victoria,” said Minister Brooks.

Delivered by the Beaufort and Skipton Health Service in partnership with the Victorian Health Building Authority, the redevelopment was funded through the Labor Government’s Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF).

The $975,000 refurbishment is on top of $416,345 in funding from the RHIF delivering new beds and shower beds, additional bedroom and bathroom upgrades and a purpose-built shortage building for logistics and procurement at the Beaufort and Skipton Health Service.

“This new redevelopment will ensure residents in Beaufort can enjoy a home-like setting that promotes dignity, privacy, and tailored care and will enable staff to continue their amazing work to care for the residents,” said Member for Western Victoria, Jaala Pulford.
