Police are investigating whether the murders of a man and woman at Parkinson could be linked to the fatal police shooting of an armed man at Drewvale yesterday.
“Around 6am, police responded to reports of a man walking alongside the Logan Motorway. Upon arrival, police were immediately confronted with the 22-year-old Calamvale man who allegedly threatened officers with a knife,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“Police shot the man and immediately rendered first aid. He died a short time later.
“At approximately 3pm on Thursday police were called to an address on Ulinga Crescent to conduct a welfare check.”
Police say they found an 87-year-old man and an 86-year-old woman, believed to be residents of the home, deceased inside “after suffering significant injuries”.
“A crime scene has been declared,” QPS said.
“The investigation is at an early stage and no further information can be confirmed at this time.”
The Ethical Standards Command is investigating the police shooting, overseen by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
