A 56-year-old woman has been winched out of dangerous terrain at Awaba after a mountain biking accident.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked at around 3:15pm yesterday afternoon after reports a female mountain biker had crashed her bike and sustained spiral injuries.
“Due to the terrain the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team were winch inserted to the scene,” a spokesperson for Westpac Rescue Helicopter said.
“The patient was stabilised by the medical team before being winch extricated and flown to Royal North Shore Hospital for specialist treatment. She was in a serious condition.”
