Motorcyclist critical after Coffs crash

A motorcyclist aged in his 60s is in a critical condition following a motorcycle crash south of Coffs Harbour.

Police say that at around 6.30am today, emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway at Raleigh, following reports “a motorcycle travelling south had hit a fallen tree before leaving the road a short distance away”.

“Upon arrival, police located a male rider – believed to be aged in his 60s – suffered serious head injuries,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus. He’s since been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

“Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.”

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam is urged to contact police.
