Motorcyclist, 66, critical after Onkaparinga Hills crash

A 66-year-old motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries in a crash at Onkaparinga Hills on Sunday afternoon.

Police say the man was riding a motorcycle with a sidecar heading east on Coxs Hill Road, Onkaparinga Hills just before 5pm when he was involved in a collision with a Toyota Prado heading in the opposite direction.

“The rider, a 66-year-old Morphett Vale man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre by ambulance. His condition is listed as critical,” SA Police said in a statement.

The driver of the four-wheel drive, a 46-year-old Hackham man, was not physically injured in the crash and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police say there was no passenger in the motorcycle’s sidecar.

Coxs Hill Road was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
