Man’s death 90th on SA roads for 2020

An 82-year-old man has died in hospital following a fatal crash earlier this month at Highbury.

Police say that just after 12.30pm on Tuesday, December 1, emergency services were called to Lower North East Road after reports an MG sedan and a Mazda SUV had crashed.

“The driver of the MG, an 82-year-old man from Ashton was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with fractures but sadly died overnight,” South Australia Police said in a statement today.

“The driver of the Mazda SUV, a 62-year-old woman from Vista and her two passengers, a 15 and a 17-year-old boy from Gumeracha, were all taken to the Modbury Hospital with minor injuries.

“The man’s death is the 90th life lost on our roads this year as compared to 101 for the same time last year.”
