Police have been told a 22-year-old woman was sitting on a bus as it travelled between Parramatta and Bankstown about 4pm on Wednesday, September 16, when an unknown man indecently assaulted her.
Police say the man disembarked the bus shortly after the incident, on the Hume Highway near Yagoona Railway Station.
The incident was reported to officers from Auburn Police Area Command and an investigation commenced.
As inquiries continue, officers attached to South-West Police Transport Command have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, aged in his 50s, between 165cm–170cm tall with a medium build. He has short dark greying hair with a stubble beard.
The man was wearing a white long-sleeved V-neck shirt, dark coloured jeans, and a navy coloured jacket.
