A man has been arrested after stowing away on an interstate freight train in an attempt to leave Victoria and evade the state’s pandemic border rules.
SA Police say that at about 6.15am yesterday, a rail supervisor located the man after the train arrived in Adelaide and police were alerted.
The train had departed Dimboola, Victoria the previous night where it is believed the man boarded the train.
Police patrols responded to the rail supervisor’s call and the male was arrested.
The 41-year-old man had submitted a Cross Border Travel Registration form however, failed to await the outcome and was arrested and charged with breaching COVID-19 Directions.
He has been refused police bail and is expected to appear in court later today.
