A man aged in his 60s has died after being pulled from the water in the state’s Lake Illawarra region.
Police say that at around 2.55pm on Easter Sunday, emergency services were called to Killalea Beach at Shell Cove, following reports a man had been pulled unconscious from the water.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics administered CPR; however, he could not be revived,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“The man is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 60s.”
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
