A 77-year-old man found unconscious on the side of the highway at Miami in the early hours of yesterday morning has has passed away in hospital.
Police say the man was found with serious injuries at Miami at around 3.35am on Tuesday.
“A member of the public located the elderly Miami man unconscious in a grassed area near the Gold Coast Highway,” Queensland Police said.
“Subsequent investigations by police yesterday identified a 34-year-old man who they believe could assist them with their enquiries.”
A car was also seized by police yesterday at Burleigh Heads.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and continues to appeal for any witnesses or dashcam in the area.
