Man dies in Riverina crash

A man has died following a crash in the Riverina region earlier today.

Police say that just before 5am, emergency services were called to Coolamon Road, Downside, about 15km north of Wagga Wagga, following reports a Ford Focus and a Mazda Bravo had collided.

“The Ford driver and sole occupant, a man believed to be aged in his 40s, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The Mazda driver, a 61-year-old man, and his passenger, a 26-year-old man, were treated at the scene before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.
