A man has died following a crash in the state’s north west.
Police say that at around 10pm last night, emergency services were called to Carnarvon Highway, Ashley, about 18km north of Moree, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
“Officers attached to New England Police Area Command arrived at the scene and found both cars had rolled,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Emergency services rendered first aid but a man died at the scene. The man is yet to be formally identified, however, is believed to be aged 27.
“A passenger inside the car was uninjured and he was taken to Moree Hospital for observation.”
The 74-year-old male driver of the other car was uninjured. He was taken to Moree Hospital for mandatory testing.
The Carnarvon Highway Ashley remains closed in both directions.
