Police have arrested a man following investigations into two violent robberies in Cranbrook.
Police will allege the 20-year-old man, who was subject to supervision by Queensland Corrective Services, removed his GPS tracking device before going on the crime spree yesterday.
They say that at around 10.50am, the man assaulted a 16-year-old boy on Cranbrook Street before stealing his bicycle.
He then rode to Bergin Road before allegedly confronting an 83-year-old woman, grabbing her car keys on a lanyard around her neck and fleeing in her vehicle.
Around 2.20pm, police intercepted the stolen vehicle on the Bruce Highway north of Innisfail after officers deployed a tire deflation device.
The 20-year-old Stuart man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody without further incident.
