Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following two stabbings in Frankston earlier this week.
In a statement, Victoria Police alleged a 53-year-old Skye woman was struck by the man from behind with a sharp implement as she walked along Young Street about 1.15pm on Sunday, August 16th. She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s alleged a second woman, a 29-year-old from Western Australia, was approached from behind and stabbed on Playne Street about 7.45am on Monday, 17 August. She was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say a 27-year-old man allegedly took off with the woman’s bag before being arrested on Ross Smith Avenue East.
The man of no fixed address was charged with two counts of intentionally cause serious injury, armed robbery, possess controlled weapon and possess dangerous article.
He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
