A man has been charged after a 56-year-old motorcyclist and his 47-year-old female pillion passenger suffered multiple injuries in a crash at Picton yesterday.
Police say that at around 12.45pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to the intersection of Picton Road and Wilton Park Road after a Ford Falcon XR6 and a Harley Davidson motorcycle collided.
“Officers from Camden Police Area Command and the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Witnesses told police the sedan was being driven west along Picton Road when it turned right into Wilton Park Road, allegedly in front of the motorcycle.”
The rider, a 56-year-old man, and pillion, a 47-year-old woman, suffered multiple injuries after being thrown from the bike.
They were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver, a 19-year-old man, was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing before being arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station.
He has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and not display P-plates.
He has been refused bail to appear at Picton Local Court today.
