Riverland Detectives have arrested a 56-year-old Woodville man in Waikerie this morning in connection with an overnight house fire.
Emergency services were called to the Bower Street, Woodville home shortly after midnight following reports of a fire.
Police say the vacant house was completely destroyed in the blaze.
Following investigations, a Woodville man was arrested and charged with arson.
​”Detectives from Western District CIB are continuing the investigation, and will allege the arrested man is known to the owner of the property,” SA Police said in a statement.
“Police would like to reassure the community this is not a random incident.”
The arrested man has been refused police bail and will appear before the Berri Magistrates Court tomorrow.
