A 56-year-old man will appear in court today charged after allegedly making online threats towards police earlier this week.
Detectives from the Fixated Persons Investigation Unit commenced an investigation on Tuesday, after an officer received electronic correspondence containing alleged threats of violence towards a NSW Police premises at Surry Hills.
Following inquiries, investigators attended a unit on Belvoir Street, Surry Hills, about 9.40am yesterday, and arrested a 56-year-old man.
The man’s phone has been seized by police and will be forensically analysed.
He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with give false information person/property in danger and use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Central Local Court today.
