Man, 92, dies in mobility scooter crash

Geelong police are investigating a fatal collision that claimed the life of a 92-year-old mobility scooter rider this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Latrobe Terrace and Roebuck Street about 2.35pm after reports a car had collided with a mobility scooter.

“The rider the mobility scooter, a 92-year-old Newtown man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and sadly died in hospital,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“Investigators are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.”
