Man, 86, killed in Oolong crash

An 86-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash near Yass.

Police say that just after 2.20pm yesterday, officers were called to the Hume Highway at Oolong, about 20km east of Yass, following reports a Toyota Corolla had rolled.

“A number of passing motorists stopped to render assistance to the driver, an 86-year-old man,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“Following the arrival of emergency services, the man was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition, where he later died.”

Officers from The Hume Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
