An 81-year-old man was winched to safety after falling onto rocks at Avoca Beach on the Central Coast yesterday.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at around 4pm on Sunday, following reports a man had fallen onto rocks at the beach location.
“NSW Ambulance Paramedics made their way on foot to the patient and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team were winch inserted into the location to assist NSW Ambulance Paramedics treat the 81-year-old male patient who suffered possible fractures and pelvic injuries after falling onto rocks,” the Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew said in a statement.
“Once stabilised the man was placed in a winch stretcher and winched back into the helicopter and airlifted direct to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.”
