Man, 80, struck by ute

Police are investigating after an 80-year-old man was hit by a ute in Sydney last night.

Police say that at around 9.30pm yesterday, the man was struck as he crossed Gow Street in Padstow.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head and arm injuries.

“Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command spoke with the driver of the yellow Holden ute, a man believed to be aged in his 50s. He was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended and have commenced an investigation.”
