NSW Police detectives have charged an 80-year-old man with 18 counts of alleged sexual abuse of a number of children in the Sutherland Shire area in the 1990’s.
In July 2023, detectives attached to South Coast Police District began investigating after receiving a report of multiple incidents of sexual assault, NSW Police outlined in a statement.
Following investigations, detectives arrested an 80-year-old man at Menai about 8:30am today.
The man was charged with 18 offences in total including the substantive offences of multiple sexual assault indecent act with person under 16 years and multiple sexual intercourse with person between 10 – 16 years.
The man was refused bail refused to appear before Sutherland Local Court tomorrow.
