Man, 74, charged over stabbing

A 74-year-old man has been charged after a stabbing in a home on the state’s Central Coast yesterday.

Police say that at around 1.40pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to a unit at Railway Street, Woy Woy, following reports of a domestic-related stabbing.

“Officers from Brisbane Water Police District attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics and found two men, who are known to each other, injured,” NSW Police said in a statement.

A 24-year-old man was treated for a stab wound to his stomach and injuries to his hands. He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital and is expected to undergo surgery.

“A 74-year-old man was treated for an injury to his head before being taken to Gosford Police Station.”

“He was charged with reckless wounding (DV) and granted conditional bail to appear at Gosford Local Court tomorrow,” Police said.
