Man, 64, charged with sex acts on bus

A 64-year-old man will appear in court today after allegedly performing sexual acts in front of passengers while travelling on buses in Sydney’s inner city and inner west.

Police say that between February and March, officers received several reports of a man allegedly performing sexual acts in front of passengers on public transport in Sydney’s CBD, Redfern, Haymarket, Broadway and Newtown.

Police Transport Command North Central’s Proactive Crime Team officers arrested a man at Railway Square, Haymarket, about 2.30pm yesterday.

The man was taken to Day Street Police Station, where he was charged with 10 counts of carry out sexual act with another without consent.

He was refused bail to appear before Central Local Court today.
