A 63-year-old man remains in a serious condition in hospital after a stabbing in Sydney’s south yesterday.
Police say that at around 5pm on New Year’s Day, emergency services were called to Myddleton Avenue, Fairfield, where they found a man suffering multiple stab wounds.
“The man, aged 63, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in serious condition,” NSW Police said in a statement today.
“Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries.
“A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with attempt murder.“
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today. Police will allege the pair were known to each other.
