A 61-year-old Ayr man has died in a two-vehicle crash at Mount Surround this afternoon.
Police say their preliminary investigations indicate that at around 2pm a black Holden sedan was heading south on the Bruce Highway when it has drifted onto the incorrect side of the road and collided head on with a truck travelling north.
“The driver and sole occupant of the sedan died at the scene,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“The driver and sole occupant of the truck was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.”
Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.
