Police have charged a 60-year-old Blacktown man with dangerous driving after he was caught allegedly speeding with two unrestrained children in his vehicle.
Police say that at around 2pm on Sunday, officers attached to the NSW Police Traffic Operations Group, observed a vehicle driving dangerously in the Blacktown area, overtaking other vehicles at high speed.
“Officers took up a position behind the vehicle where its speed was checked at 110km/h in the 60km/h zone,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Officers stopped the vehicle and immediately observed a young child sitting in the front of the vehicle not in an approved seat and while being required to be sitting in the rear of the vehicle.
“Another young child was in the rear of the vehicle again not in an approved seat.”
A police check of the man’s licence status found that he was driving while on a suspended licence. The man was charged with driving offences and will appear before Blacktown Local Court at a later date.
