Man, 56, facing firearm charges

A 56-year-old man has been charged after he produced a firearm at Flagstone on Tuesday.

Officers located the man around 11.20am in the street where it will be alleged he produced a gun and was then shot by police.

“The man sustained a non-life threatening injury,” Queensland Police said in a statement today.

“The 56-year-old has been charged with four counts of serious assault police whilst armed.”

He appeared in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Friday and was remanded in custody to reappear on Wednesday, December 15.
