Man, 55, facing charges after drug raid

A 55-year-old man is facing serious drugs charges after officers seized more than five litres of the ‘date rape’ drug, GHB, and $20,000 cash at a Northern Rivers home.

Police say that at around 11.30am yesterday, officers attached to Richmond Police District executed a search warrant at a home at East Lismore.

“During the search, police seized more than fives litres of gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), cannabis, methylamphetamine (ice) and $20,000 cash,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“Officers also located items consistent with the supply of prohibited drugs.

“All items seized during the operation will undergo further examination.”

A 55-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Lismore Police Station.

He was charged with supply large commercial quantity prohibited drug, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity) and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court today.
