A 55-year-old Braybook man has been arrested after Northern Grampians detectives seized a large quantity of cannabis plants during a search warrant in Lambert Street yesterday.
“Officers attended the address and discovered a hydroponic set-up about 2.50pm with a substantial amount of plants located,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
It comes after police located and seized more than 40kg of cannabis when they intercepted a car in Ararat late Monday night.
A 55-year-old Braybook man and a 38-year-old Sunshine North man were both arrested and interviewed by police in relation to the hydroponic cannabis crop.
They have since been charged with cultivating and trafficking a commercial quantity of cannabis.
The men were remanded overnight to appear at Horsham Magistrates’ Court today.
