Man, 51, charged with sex offences

Bunbury Detectives have charged a 51-year-old man with sexual offences against a 14-year-old girl.

It is alleged the man made contact with the teenage victim online via an instant messaging app and, after a period of time, the man arranged to meet her in person.

Police say the man then met up with the girl earlier this month and blindfolded her before driving her to an unknown location where he sexually assaulted her. He then blindfolded her again and drove her back to where he collected her.

The 51-year-old man from Millbridge has been charged with two counts of Sexual Penetration of a Child; one count of Intent to Expose a Person under 16 years to Indecent Material; and one count of Possessing Child Exploitation Material.

He is next due to appear before the Bunbury Magistrates Court on October 26.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives urge anyone with any information regarding this matter to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
