Rockhampton detectives have charged a 51-year-old man following investigations into a fire at Frenchville overnight.
“Police will allege the man made threats and was seen leaving on foot just prior to the house catching fire,” Queensland Police said in a statement this morning.
“Emergency services arrived at the scene around 6.20pm.
“The man was arrested in nearby Waterloo Street shortly afterwards. He was taken to hospital.”
Police has since charged the Frenchville man with arson. He is expected to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court today.
